Poppy

Poppy is a maze inspired by the California Poppy. During the spring, I often find myself slowing down during morning runs to admire roadside poppies growing in unexpected places.

Since I can’t pick these flowers without getting arrested (or so I have been told), I wanted to make a maze inspired by them: an ode to their subtle beauty and complexity. Just like the poppy, this maze is deceivingly not simple, with bearing balls and paths of multiple sizes.

Because poppies make my day brighter, this maze is also finished by polishing the flower and bead blasting the negative space, allowing the flower to pop. Poppy.
